Multimedia University over the weekend hosted student leaders from various regions of the country among those in attendance leaders were from Jkuat ,Taveta,Meru,Masinde Muliro,Multimedia,Pwani,Kenyatta university and also Tuk university.Among the things that they discussed were;HELB issue ,Merging of private institutions with the public and the registration the new union Kenya Student Association Union (KUSLA).
The meeting also centered around the insecurity issue in campuses and the relationship between the students and the community.They each gave the status of the security in their universities and they each suggested the measures that should be taken to avoid such incidents like the Garissa attack in learning institutions.
Finance leader from Multimedia Mugambi suggested that employing too many security officers will scare the students away but the school should just hire few security personnel.
The issue of Helb popped up and took most of the time with many leaders disagreeing on the issuing of the smart cards.They all came to an agreement that Ringera should stop the underway deal to control the usage of Helb.
They further went ahead of saying that Baraton,Maasai Mara, among other campuses have betrayed their fellow comrades in that they accepted the usage of the card.Hence they all came to a conclusion that they should be banned completely since they do not benefit a comrade

As the meeting came to an questions were posed into why Babu Owino never showed up for the occasion .We tried to reach him on phone but it didn't go through our correspondent at Nairobi University also could not be reached.
Many people will confuse KUSLA for KUSU the one Babu heads but this one is new and it comprises of student leaders only.
